Many motorhomes are equipped with an electric step to make getting in and out at the campsite easier.
Many motorhome owners know the problem: however, if you have to frequently get in and out along the route, you often end up using the conventional—and for some, cumbersome—entry via the driver’s cab. The step is usually operated from inside the motorhome; in most cases, the user has to operate a switch near the vehicle floor, which isn’t very back-friendly.
This solution is suitable for existing as well as new motorhomes. Existing safety features—such as the step’s automatic retraction or a warning tone when the engine starts—remain active. Future adapter versions will also provide automatic retraction when the engine starts if this was previously implemented only via a warning tone.
Installation should pose no challenge for experienced automotive mechatronics technicians and should take about 1/2–1 working hours. Combined with the affordable interface price and the usual high speedsignal quality, this results in a proportionate solution for an everyday annoyance for many users of motorhomes, caravans, and delivery vehicles.
